DWR Chat Tutorial
These things are poping up all over the web right now.  Here is yet another way to create an AJAX driven web chat application.  This time using Direct Web Remoting(DWR) as a framework.  I haven't tested this one yet (once again, I'm not a Java fan), but looks like it is pretty well written.
