DIrect Web Remoting is a Java based AJAX framework.  I haven't had a chance to try out Direct Web Remoting yet because I'm not really a Java/JSP fan.  When I do have to work with JSP, I never have time to try out neat frameworks.  If you have tried it out, let me know what you think of it.
